WAEC Releases Second Batch Of Provisional WASSCE Results For 2024 Private Candidates
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the first series of provisional results for 12,452 private candidates who sat for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Breakdown of Candidates
According to Graphic Online, WAEC’s data shows that the examination had:
- 5,269 male candidates
- 7,998 female candidates
- 738 absentee candidates
Accessing Results
Candidates can now check their WASSCE results online via the WAEC portal using their examination details.
Examination Malpractices and Withheld Results
WAEC disclosed that some cases of examination malpractice were detected. As a result:
- 34 candidates had their subject results withheld
- 43 candidates had their entire results withheld, pending further investigations
Caution Against Fraudsters
The council has warned candidates and the general public to beware of fraudsters who claim to offer result upgrades for a fee, often demanding payment via mobile money. WAEC emphasizes that WASSCE results can only be verified and authenticated through its official website.
